Sussex Prairies is open from 1pm until 5pm six afternoons a week , closed on Tuesdays . Dogs are always welcome ! Our final day of opening will be Sunday 13th October 2019.
Emily enjoys demonstrating traditional methods and some more modern techniques in watercolour. You will have the chance to apply some of these methods to your paintings. There will be an opportunity to paint large or just enjoy painting the beautiful garden.

On this inspirational workshop, Nalini will guide you on a morning of creativity, nature and healing and teach you some ‘Practical Magic’ to take home with you. From gathering herbs and making products, to meditative moments and peacefulness, this workshop will appeal to both the practical and the mystical – open to everyone who would love to know more about healing herbs, wild plants, aromatherapy and natural remedies.
we shall explore how to create images that capture the spirit of prairie planting.
Produce sketches of the garden from different view points and/or patterns of colour and textures.then cut and reassemble the sketches adding layers of colour and texture to create the final painting.
We will forage for materials in the gardens and surrounding farmland and then return to make tools using traditional, hand made techniques. We will then utilise our tools to make beautiful marks with ink on paper.
