Join us for a week of paper related happenings,workshops,drop in demos and exhibitions on the prairie all related to paper for the Chelsea Festival Fringe Brighton.

Giving Nature a Prairie Home

 Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2014- 1pm until 5pm

“Discover the secret world of nature on your doorstep - spend a day in the beautiful Sussex Countryside”

Join the RSPB and our artist in residence Anne kelly ,textile artist, for a magical weekend enjoying nature at its most spectacular. Proceeds from the event will be donated to RSPB projects in the south east.Activities will include bug sweeping and identification with the RSPB and we will look into the secret world of creatures that live in the ponds and meadows in this stunning countryside setting. We will be showing children how to build bug hotels to take home with them and will be running a nature trail and a delicious lollypop tombola. Take part in a completely original community art project with textile artist in residence, Anne Kelly.

Rude Mechanical Theatre Company - The King who listened to a Crow

Join us for a An evening of outdoor theatre with the world famous Rude mechanical theatre company.Bring your own picnic to enjoy in the garden. Tickets available to buy direct from the Rude Mechanicals.

The play is called the King who Listened to a Crow and will delight one and all . It is about men's expectations of women and picks up on some of the issues from The Wife of Bath, and although the central female character has to go through some 'unkind tests' to prove herself in the eyes of a man whose opinions of women are warped by listening to a bitter and twisted crow, it has a happy ending with a rediscovery of love.

About The Rude Mechanical Theatre Company-
Their shows - which are inspired by and deeply rooted in the commedia - are aimed at adults but enjoyed by all ages .Their cast is composed of professional physical theatre actors and actor-musicians trained in mime, clown or commedia. Most members of theteam are also musicians, and original music live music is integrated with the action.

Garden Open for National Garden Scheme (Yellow Book)

As well as the delicious homemade cakes and teas and coffees you will be able to buy wonderful plants from the Sussex Prairie plant nursery (all plants grown here in the garden )as well as enjoy the plants brought to you by the fantastic Jennie Maillard of the nursery Usual and Unusual Plants , Chris Burchell Collins will demonstrate his blacksmithing skills and watch Dave Unsted will show his beautiful wood turning work.
