An original artwork in acrylic and pastel ,Crocus Bulbs,by Scottish artist Sarah McDougall Duncan is featured in this room. Sarah is a prolific artist and has created some amazing pieces over the many years we have known her. I remember seeing her painting this particular painting in her Clyde Valley garden on a beautiful summer's day. Sarah says "I saw the newly emerging crocus flowers in sunlight, so there were purple and lilac shades as well as the pale translucent light brown tones. I used acrylic paints to show the bulbs opening up to the light, using bold sculptural brushmarks to suggest the exuberance and power of nature. Spring bulbs emerging from the earth can inspire the artist, because there are beautiful changes to the plants every day, and under differing light and weather conditions".
At Christmas time this room takes on the theme of Bears, grizzly and otherwise!
Overlooking both the prairie garden and potager garden , this bedroom is airy, light and romantic.
