The Loden Foundation , Bhutan

what is it ?
Loden Foundation is a civil society organization based in the capital city of Bhutan, a tiny Himalayan country with little over 700,000 people sandwiched between two worlds giants, India in the south and China in the north.

what does it do ?
Loden is dedicated to fostering an enlightened and happy society in Bhutan through the promotion of education, learning and entrepreneurship among the Bhutanese children and young adults. Managed by a group of people with shared vision, interests and concerns, Loden Foundation runs programs to provide educational and entrepreneurial opportunities and facilities at preschool, school and post-school stages.

Loden Fondation has supported 63 entrepreneurial ventures, which are spread across 16 districts of Bhutan. The program was inspired and supported by a French Couple Anne and Gerard Tardy which has gradually attracted other major supporters from across the Globe with a key supporter being Maitri Trust in Edinburgh, UK. The organization also runs community based Early Learning Centre and sponsors education of unprivileged children.

How shall we be helping ?
we will be raising funds for the Foundation through sales of teas and coffees on our charitable day with the NGS. We are also hoping to set up horticultural links with entrepreneurs in Bhutan.

The Henfield Area Response Team (HART) - are a group of local residents who provide support to the Sussex Ambulance Service NHS Trust by responding early to serious medical and other life threatening conditions, including Heart Attacks, Drowning, Unconsciousness and Severe Bleeding

These responders, trained by the Sussex Ambulance Service do not replace the ambulance service but at their request, attend the scene prior to the ambulance arrival thus reduce the delay of providing skills such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and Defibrillation

We shall be supporting HART by donating £5 from every season ticket purchased by BN5 and Thirteen8 residents during our 2015 season.
