Join us at Sussex Prairie Garden for a special nocturnal event and learn about some of Britain’s most amazing creatures – Bats. As the day comes to an end our local bats are waking up and heading out to hunt over the garden.
Sussex naturalist Michael Blencowe will start the evening with an illustrated talk all about these incredible mammals. We’ll learn about their lives and the amazing adaptations they have made to live and hunt in the dark.
Then we’ll head out into the Prairie Garden for a guided nocturnal wildlife walk looking out for bats. We’ll be using special detectors which will allow us to hearing the bat’s echo location calls. If you’ve never tuned into the world of the bat be prepared for an unique experience!
We’ll also be keeping an eye out for owls, moths and other nocturnal wildlife.
Tea / coffee and biscuits will be provided.
