Sunday 3rd July 2022 | 10:00am - 2:00pm

Batik Wax Resist Textiles with Susan D’souza

A relaxed creative workshop suitable for both those with no previous experience of batik as well as those with more experience who may want to extend their skills, or work with guidance on a personal project.

This workshop will introduce a range of tools, techniques and surface pattern approaches to applying molten wax as a resist, followed by hand painting with dyes including an opportunity to experiment with some natural plant dye extracts. We will take Inspiration from the beautiful array of patterns and colours to be found within the gardens.

You will create a range of experimental samples on paper and fabric which can be used as sketch book samples or may wish to work on a larger piece to frame.

Cost of workshop £70 including all materials and entry to the gardens

Please contact Susan D’souza for more information or to secure one of the 10 spaces available susandsouza68@gmail.com  07786613309

Wonderful garden well worth a visit. Great variety of plants showing so many ways of portraying a garden layout. Must comment on the great tea and cakes selection, our dog loved the doggy ice cream!

Beautifully planted area, in which you are encouraged to walk along paths between the plants so can be completely surrounded by foliage - a lovely effect.
