Jubal Prevatte
Although Jubal has been a lifelong woodworker and furniture maker, his turning practice began in earnest after an ice storm swept through his hometwon of Portland, Oregon, in February of 2021. Aghast at the number of fallen trees, he commenced a programme of “bowl bombing”, cutting bits from fallen trees and returning a bowl a few days later with a note sharing his sympathies at the loss of the tree and his hopes that the bowl could serve as a reminder of its beauty. He was moved by the response; requests came in to make more for other family members as people reminisced about their children playing in the trees or their parents tending it when they were young. To this day he does his best to let the wood speak, seeing his job as simply one of istening to what the wood is saying and helping it express its own story. Jubal also specialises in custom furniture and bespoke kitchen design, centering that work on function informing form, longevity of work, and an ease of use in the years to come. https://www.jubalprevatte.com/ https://www.instagram.com/jubalprevatte/

The biodegradable printing materials used have their own unique qualities, the striations produced in the printing process making each piece individual.
