We are excited to offer a workable safe plan for running 4 different half day pop up courses at Sussex Prairie Garden from mid-July. The garden has been open for a month and it’s all looking and feeling quite fantastic.
Some of you already know Emma and Amanda. We both have many years teaching experience and just love to encourage everyone to have a go at the Art activities we offer. Beginners are welcome, and we can set high expectations for improvers in a relaxed, informal yet productive atmosphere. We focus on experimental and imaginative approaches to recording and using media aiming for a balance between this and teaching technical skills. Above all we love to have fun and make sure you enjoy your days with us.
Each course 3.5 hours long, register for an am or a pm slot. The cost is £40 per person, with very limited numbers and some art media supplied. Free entry to the garden, after the morning course or before the afternoon course included in the course fee. We will prepare Art media packs at least 3 days beforehand, they will be distributed from their storage box on the day. You can sign up for one or more courses, each day is designed with a different aesthetic focus and technical skills to learn, the days can be added together to make a set.
Courses will run entirely outside and so are weather dependent. If it is very hot you will be able to choose shady areas to complete your sketching. 48 hours before each date we will email you and either confirm or cancel the course depending on the weather or Covid rules. If we do have to cancel please note the reserve dates that are listed. Emma and I will teach up to a maximum of 5 people at a time, safe distanced from us. We will demonstrate, set tasks and regroup at points during the 3.5 hour period. So there will be a maximum of 10 participants divided between the two of us.
You will be able to purchase drinks and cake from the cafe or feel free to bring a picnic. We ask for payment on the day (we have a card reader for debit or credit card). The budget is tight and we don’t have any booking security and so we would ask you to let us know in very good time if, for any reason, you cannot attend so that we can try to fill the place.
To reserve a place please email or phone either of us stating which course title(s) and date(s) you would like to book, number of places, and whether you would like to book a morning (9.30 -1pm) or afternoon (2-5.30pm) slot. Please could you also include your mobile / landline phone numbers.
Very best wishes,
Amanda and Emma
