Collage can be used as a form of self expression to explore hopes and dreams and create visual memoirs. In this workshop we will be using mixed media to create a collage ready to be transformed into a clock which will develop from a personal theme.
We will start by producing a grid of smaller collages to work from by looking at dynamic compositional exercises. We will also look at pushing our collages into timepiece which might be a traditional circle or fragment into an abstract shape.
We will work with fragments of textures and magazine rips to spontaneously layer images and symbols to create narrative. Words, poetry and affirmations can also be used to explore and record relationships and illustrate stories. We will be inspired by varied contemporary artists and will explore a rich variety of themes.
We will use varied techniques including Phototransfer and recycle old pieces of gelliprints and collage materials.
This workshop does not require any specific artistic skills other than a playful mind.
Costs: £65 with all materials, tea, coffee and biscuits plus garden entry.
All materials will be included in the price.
