Sussex Prairie Garden is now closed for the winter
Lucy has been creating a series of imaginative fantasy figures for a stop motion animation series set in the Sussex Prairie gardens. She will show you some of the ways you can create your own models, which could just be for display or to be used in your own animation projects. Lucy is one of the artists exhibiting this year in the Prairie Gardens Gallery in the UNFURL exhibition.
During the workshop we will make armature frames, (flexible skeletons) to support the bodies of the figures we design. We will use various materials to dress the figures too. These can be hand sewn or glued. The workshop is low tech and uses easily accessible materials. Lucy uses a lot of recycled materials in her work, for example the cockroach in the photo is partly made from tomato puree tubes.
This course is suitable for all abilities, 16 years and over. We will use glue guns, hand sewing, sharp materials. Lucy is also running a workshop on Thurs 24th August on basic stop motion filming using a basic app on your mobile phone.
The workshop will take place in the gallery surrounded by inspiring artwork indoors and fabulous gardens outside.
Materials for the workshop will be provided but you can also bring any recycled materials you would like to use.
Numbers on the course maximum 10
Cost per person £65 includes materials and tea, coffee and biscuits. Price also includes entry into the Prairie gardens, you can stay as long as you like after the workshop. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the gardens.
