printmaking technique of drypoint by Emma Taylor
Explore the beautiful printmaking technique of drypoint with an emphasis on texture and quality of line. We will draw directly into acetate and metallic card sheets to create varied mark-making which when printed through an etching press will create rich velvety lines.
We will produce multiple prints inspired by the gardens and will experiment with different ways of inking to add subtle colour as well as chine-cole collage.
This intaglio printmaking process is perfect for beginners as the transparent plates offer the option to trace from preparatory drawings or photographs. For the more confident, drypoint is ideal for artists looking to expand their practice.
Costs: £55 per workshop
All materials will be included in the price.
