CANCELLED

Pastel is a fabulous medium for working with expressive colour in a spontaneous and creative way. In this workshop, inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Sussex Prairie Gardens, we will explore techniques for creating rich layers of colour. You will learn how to apply the pastel, make expressive marks and use inspiring colour combinations as well as how to select papers for your subject matter.

Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists.

Cost £55 includes materials and all-day access to the garden.

Contact clarebuckleart@gmail.com or see www.clarebuckle.com/shop for more information, or book online here.

About Clare Buckle

Clare studied Illustration at the Royal College of Art in the late 1980s and worked as a freelance illustrator before focusing on her own work, creating works in pastel, mixed media and printmaking.

For many years Clare ran successful classes with Aspire adult education before setting up her own workshops across Mid Sussex.  She runs weekly and Saturday art workshops in a variety of media and her highly regarded classes have inspired many learners to rediscover their creativity.

Clare exhibits annually in the Brighton Open Houses and has exhibited at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne.  Her twin passions are landscape and nature, particularly birds, and in 2020 she featured in the Westmorland Landscape Prize exhibition in Cumbria and in the Society of Wildlife Artists exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
