Food & drink fermenting workshop at Sussex Prairies

Traditional diets have always included a range of local live and fermented foods and drinks. This art has been lost in recent decades but is making a resurgence now…. Get tickets here.

Therese Eriksen from Shoreham Homoeopathy teaches practical workshops on how to make tasty, nutritious foods and drinks to aid digestion and enhance overall health.

Workshops last around three and a half hours and are suitable for beginners. The idea is to learn how easy it is to incorporate these foods and drinks into our routines, with minimum fuss. Once you know the basics, you can get creative and build on the simple recipes shown on the day.

Everyone joins in and makes some ferments to take away. Samples of each food and drink are available to taste on the day.

The workshop covers:

  • Sourdough bread
  • Sauerkraut and fermented Carrot and ginger
  • Kombucha

Jars and starters are provided as well as a booklet to take away with recipes. Just bring a pinnie!

Cost – £85 per person

After the class has ended you can stay on and enjoy the garden for the rest of the day.

Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be offered to all class participants.

Wonderful garden well worth a visit. Great variety of plants showing so many ways of portraying a garden layout. Must comment on the great tea and cakes selection, our dog loved the doggy ice cream!

Beautifully planted area, in which you are encouraged to walk along paths between the plants so can be completely surrounded by foliage - a lovely effect.
