This course provides an antidote to the chaos of modern life and would be perfect for anyone who is interested in slowing down, relaxing, spending some time with an activity that can be completed whenever the fancy takes you or even become a healthy creative obsession.
Explore the rhythmical, therapeutic and contemplative process of making arrangements with coloured, patterned and textured fabrics and then stitching them by hand. Allow yourself to relax whilst your running stitches drift across your selected fabrics.Discover the joys of Kantha and Sashiko stitching as well as Japanese traditions of Boro. Explore ideas about balancing colour and other visual elements to create luscious stitched samples.
We won’t be making any literal or representational pictures on this course, we will be working with pure abstraction. Using the simplest of stitches ‘running stitch’ to be free to roam your textile collage.
Cost £120 for 2 days fabric and threads all included in the cost.
Book before 1stMay £110
