Gelli-Printing & Watercolour Collage with Seana Mallen

Gelli-Printing & Watercolour Collage

An Exuberant Mixed-Media Celebration of the Prairie Gardens

for artists of all abilities

Day one. Inspired by the garden, we gather and create our materials,  first working collaboratively to watercolour the tissue paper that will become layers of colour and light   and then individually gelli-printing directly from grasses and foliage to make evocative impressions for collage. NO drawing necessary! (Unless you want to, of course!)

Day two. With all the beautiful sheets of coloured tissue and array of botanical prints  ready, today we will play and experiment with compositions and combinations, layering the tissues and prints into your personal interpretations, your visual poems and songs that capture your response to the gardens.

You can choose to work in a Seawhite Concertina Sketchbook, and/or on canvas.

Two days for £120.

Price includes:

All the materials for the gelli printing.

1 A5 Seawhite’s concertina sketchbook

All tissues, glues and mediums

1 small canvas

You will need to bring your own watercolours. If you want to work on a larger canvas, please bring your own.

When you enroll, I’ll send you an optional materials list of things that could personalise and enhance your artwork, but all you really need to bring is an open mind and an enthusiasm to play!
