Gelliprint with Image Transfer & More with Emma Taylor

Friday 27th June 2025 | 10:00am - 2:00pm

Gelliprint with Image Transfer & More with Emma Taylor

Course outline: Gelliprint, image transfer, charcoal transfer, stencil and botanical prints.

Costs: £65 includes refreshments and garden entry.

We will be exploring the basic techniques of mono printing where one off unique prints are made without the use of a press. We will use inks and rollers to create layers and simple direct drawings from nature. We will also use leaves and plants to create effective frottage prints. We will then produce spontaneous Gelli prints which are made using flexible rubber-like plate that holds textures and patterns. These are perfect for building up layers with stencils and overlapping colours to create beautiful images. We will be producing numerous prints with atmospheric textural qualities by pressing leaves and flowers into the plates.

We will also experiment with transfer of magazine images which can be very effective. We will also experiment with transfer of magazine images with the Gelliplates which can be very effective and satisfying. These are great for collage and sketchbooks.

I will also be showing you how to extend your practice with Gelliprints. So many prints are created in this workshop that its always inspirational to create final pieces by drawing into them, as well as photo transfering images and creating collage canvases. Charcoal drawing and biro resist are also an extension to try.

This workshop does not require any specific artistic skills other than an open mind and a sense of play. The numerous prints will become art pieces in their own right or idea for scrapbooking and collage. Gelli printing is addictive and once you start you won’t want to stop! This workshop is suitable for beginners or any artists interested in expanding their printmaking skills.

Costs: £65 with all materials, tea, coffee and biscuits plus garden entry.

All materials will be included in the price.
