Introduction to Textile heat transfer processes with Katy Broomfield

Join me for a unique textile workshop where you’ll learn the art of heat transfer press. This workshop is perfect for both beginners and experienced individuals who are looking to expand their skills. We’ll be using elements from nature like plants and feathers to create beautiful and simple fabric samples. You’ll be amazed at what you can create with a little heat and a lot of creativity!”

And here’s what you will cover in your workshop:

  1. Introduction   to Heat Transfer Press: We’ll start with the basics, explaining      what heat transfer press is and how it works. This will set a solid      foundation for the rest of the workshop.
  2. Materials      and Tools: Next, we’ll introduce the materials and      tools we’ll be using. This includes the heat press machine, different      types of fabrics, and the natural elements like plants and feathers.
  3. Designing      Your Fabric: This is where the fun begins! We’ll      guide you through the process of arranging your chosen elements on your      fabric to create a design you love.
  4. The      Heat Transfer Process: Once you’re happy with your design,      we’ll show you how to use the heat press machine to transfer your design      onto the fabric.
  5. Creating      Your Sample: Finally, you’ll create your own fabric      sample using the techniques you’ve learned. You’ll leave the workshop with      a beautiful piece of fabric that you’ve designed and created yourself!

Remember, this workshop is all about exploring your creativity and having fun. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. We can’t wait to see what you create!

The workshop time is 10.30-3.30pm ( 5 hours )

The price is £75 to include entrance to garden, tea, coffee and handmade biscuits, all your dyes, papers and fabric. Please bring a pic nic lunch.
