Plan your new ‘foodie spot’ to grow your own vegetables.

Whether your garden is large or small, there is always room for a few edibles.

Using the new kitchen garden at Sussex Prairies, Juliet will take you through the start-up principles of creating a food growing area. How to plan the layout for easy gardening and maximum crops.

Subjects covered:

The principles of growing your own vegetables in any garden space

Planning the layout of vegetable beds

Easy maintenance tips for Grow-your-Own

Unusual growing methods – old and new

Who is the course for?

Beginners to growing vegetables, who are thinking of planning their own foodie plot.

 

By the end of the day you will have:
An understanding of the principles of setting out vegetable beds

An understanding of when and how vegetables can be grown in amongst ornamental plants

Easier ‘starter’ crops for early success

Various growing methods

Basic gardening methods for vegetable growing

 

Sussex Prairie Gardens Venue

The course is held at one of the most beautiful gardens in Sussex – where you will have free entry and the opportunity to enjoy the garden as well as purchase refreshments in the tea shop.

 

The Group

We will be an informal group. Juliet teaches in an accessible, workshop style with illustrated ‘info-bites’ and relevant exercises for you to think about your own garden.

As well as being an award-winning garden designer, Juliet has been teaching gardening to professionals and enthusiasts for over 15 years.
