Meditation and Mixed Media at Sussex Prairie Garden with Katie Sollohub

Saturday 29th June 2024 - Sunday 30th June 2024 | 9:00am - 2:00pm

Meditation and Mixed Media at Sussex Prairie Garden with Katie Sollohub

Relax, breathe, listen, let go of expectations and tune into the beauty of your surroundings. Come into this beautiful garden and creatively explore its visual, and tactile delights.

In June the Prairie Garden is just beginning to grow into itself, with a sense of emergence, of burgeoning growth. On this creative workshop you will be experimenting with making marks and simple abstract compositions. Daubs of colour, painting with fingers, homemade tools and natural materials.
The emphasis will be on play and experimentation, with simple mindful meditation exercises to awaken the senses. You will be encouraged to experiment with mixed media to make a series of small studies inspired by the colours, shapes and sensations of the garden. Suitable for all.
9am meet/9.30am start with tuition until 2pm each day (access to the garden and limited access to studio until 5pm each day)
Cost: £160* (includes garden entry fee, tuition and studio space 9am – 2pm with hot drinks and biscuits available during the workshop) *Paper and some materials can be
provided for an additional £5
Contact Katie on 07905244623 or email For more information on the tutor visit
NB This course would combine well with the 2 day sketchbook course 11 – 12 July, and/or the 5 day Drawing into Painting Retreat 18 – 22 September 2024

Wonderful garden well worth a visit. Great variety of plants showing so many ways of portraying a garden layout. Must comment on the great tea and cakes selection, our dog loved the doggy ice cream!

Beautifully planted area, in which you are encouraged to walk along paths between the plants so can be completely surrounded by foliage - a lovely effect.
