Sussex Prairies will not be open to the general public for visiting in 2026 . We shall however be picking the prairie garden for fabulous cut flowers with a difference for weddings , funerals and all other celebrations . Now you can get more bang for your bucket (of flowers) throughout our season June to October
Join Tim, The Linden Outdoorsman, on Saturday 6th July for an unforgettable adventure in primitive fire making and artists charcoal creation. Learn the ancient art of starting a fire using flint and steel, as well as the technique of friction fire with a bow drill, we will use a selection of natural tinders just like our ancestors. Once our fire is roaring, we’ll use it to make our own artists charcoal in our Kadai Charcoal Burner using Willow rods that we will prepare together.
While the charcoal burner is on, you can relax by the fire with a cup of coffee, tea or maybe a foraged brew and indulge in some freshly cooked skillet bannock bread drizzled in honey.
Afterward, you’ll have free time to soak in the inspiration of nature in the beautiful prairie garden for an afternoon of drawing and creativity.
Price is £65pp
