* THIS EVENT HAS NOW FINISHED *

Rag Rugs- Prairie Daisy Mat with Debbie Siniska
This timeless thrift craft has survived the test of time and is still a great way to recycle your pre loved clothes and textiles.
You will work with traditional hand tools onto a hessian backing to create a hooky or proddy surface – and make a start on a slip mat or seat mat. Cost £55 per person . Please contact Debbie to book your place at info@debbiesiniska.co.uk
I do ask that students bring pre loved tee shirts/fine knit woolies etc that they would like to recycle.
New hand tools will be available to buy if people want to continue with the craft.
Tutor Profile
Debbie Siniska is a textile artist – working with recycled texties and traditional hand tools. She has exhibited in the V&A museum , and was commissioned by Charleston, home of the bohemian Bloomsbury group of the 1920’s to create a facsimile of a Bloomsbury rag rug that now lies in Maynard Keynes bedroom in the house that is open to the public.
Debbie appeared on channel 4 tv with Kirstie Allsopp on her Homemade Home series 2 – and her book Rag Rugs Old into New was published to coincide with her tv appearance.
Debbie teaches in schools and colleges and runs her own series of textile workshops. She is  a member of the Heritage Crafts Association, The Sussex Guild and the Sussex Arts Collective.

Wonderful garden well worth a visit. Great variety of plants showing so many ways of portraying a garden layout. Must comment on the great tea and cakes selection, our dog loved the doggy ice cream!

Beautifully planted area, in which you are encouraged to walk along paths between the plants so can be completely surrounded by foliage - a lovely effect.
