Sketchbook Skills with an added splash of ink with Emma Taylor

Working in a sketchbook is a great place to experiment and try new approaches to art without the pressure of creating a masterpiece. It can be daunting starting a sketchbook but I will show you how to get started and how to gain confidence to develop your own style. We will be exploring varied media and develop pages of a sketchbook which will follow your own theme or point of interest.

We will forage the garden for fabulous grasses and plants with strong silhouettes to use as natural stencils and layer in with hand sprays and diffusers which create amazing layered surfaces for your sketchbooks

We will use varied techniques and can also recycle old pieces of work and collage materials which will help you organise your thoughts and experiments.

We will look at ways of drawing into these pages basic mark making to create elaborate doodles and observation studies to build up your confidence with drawing skills.

Your sketchbook will become a fun and simple way of incorporating creative expression into everyday life and this workshop will inspire you to make time each day to be creative.

This workshop does not require any specific artistic skills other than an open mind and messy hands.

You will need to bring a small sketchbook or I can supply a A5 homemade concertina book as well as Seawhites sketchbooks which can be purchased at cost.

This workshop is designed to give you insight to sketchbook practice allowing you the confidence to get you started on your journey of creativity.

Costs: £60 with all materials and garden entry.

All materials will be included in the price.
