Slow Stitched Stories: A Three-Day Nature-Inspired Creative Retreat
I invite you to join me for three gentle days of slow stitching in a nature-inspired setting. Slow stitching is not about speed or perfection; it is a mindful approach to hand sewing that embraces relaxation and creativity.
During our time together, we will create a slow-stitched book – a personal and tactile piece filled with textures, layers, and quiet storytelling. I will guide you through a beautiful, simple bookbinding method that I have never shared before – but how your book takes shape will be entirely your own. There is no rush – only the simple joy of working at your own pace.
I believe in teaching in a gentle, supportive way, encouraging you to trust your creative instincts and develop your own style. I will offer ideas and guidance, but ultimately, you will make the choices that feel right to you. There is beauty in every imperfect stitch and in every spontaneous idea that comes from the heart.
Nature will be our inspiration, from the soft colours and textures of fabric to the gentle rhythm of hand-stitching. We will explore how to layer and compose with fabric, allowing our pieces to unfold organically – just like patterns found in the natural world.
As we stitch, we will share stories, reflect, and take time to simply be in the creative process. Whether you are new to slow stitching or have been stitching for years, this retreat is a space to experiment, explore, and grow, all while being surrounded by the calming influence of nature.
By the end of these three days, you will leave with a beautifully hand-stitched book, filled with the essence of nature, that reflects your unique creative journey – a treasured piece of art that continues to grow with you.
I would love for you to join me on this journey. Let us stitch slowly, gently, and with the inspiration of nature as our guide.
cost: £250 – or £225 if booked by end of April
