Small + Simple Soap Stone Carving with Yvette Sullivan

This workshop will provide an introduction to soap stone carving. You will be shown techniques for working with beautiful soft stone to shape your own design for a pendant or small object of choice. You may also take inspiration from the surrounding gardens to explore patterns in nature to experiment with surface design.
The final engraving of pattern and texture into your soap stone will highlight the properties of this tactile material.
No previous carving or practical experience is necessary as this is a relaxed, exploration of materiality and creativity.
Cost: £65 including tea, coffee & biscuits, all materials plus garden entry.
