It is the start of summer on the Sussex Prairies Potager. A lot of seed has already been sown and many plants have already been planted out. However now is the perfect time to reflect and make sure the plot stays productive all through summer, into winter and through in to next spring.
This workshop will cover three topics; successional sowing of the ‘quick’ crops (lettuce, salad leaves, radish etc.), sowing of the tender summer/ autumn outdoor crops (courgette, squash, beans etc.) and sowing of autumn to spring crops (oriental leaves, winter/spring brassicas, onions etc.).
The workshop will be hands on. Whilst discussing the topics participants will be able to sow and transplant a broad selection of the varieties we cultivate in our garden. All materials and seeds will be provided. There will also be plenty of time to share successes and failures and the ‘pest friendly’ methods we have found to be the most reliable.
Seeds, seedlings, compost and everything else will be provided .Attendees can sow seeds and pot seedlings to take home and also take some seeds and a sowing plan home.
Cost £60 per person
maximum 8 persons
