Textile Applique and Stitch Workshop : Layered Landscapes
with Textile Artist & Teacher Susan D’souza
Saturday 5th June 10.00am-3.00pm
Using inspiration from the beautiful landscape views at Sussex Prairie Gardens learn how to abstract and simplify complex shapes and visual information by creating layered fabric ‘collage’ using applique and reverse applique techniques. We will then go on to add texture and detail using hand and /or machine stitch. No previous textile experience necessary but the opportunity for experienced textile practitioners to extend their skills.
1 day workshop total cost £70 per person including materials

Susan is an experienced college and University textile lecturer who makes and exhibits textile artwork with a focus on colour, detail and seasonal shifts in nature. Susan is a member of Pure Arts Group and exhibited at Ditchling Museum of Art & Craft in May 2019 as part of a group of Natural Dyers.
