Worlds in a Box with Emma Taylor

Worlds in a Box with Emma Taylor

(with the option to exhibit)

Sunday 19th June 2022

10am to 2pm

We will be inspired by the work of Joseph Cornell, Len Shelly and assemblage artists to create a box of curiosity and storytelling.

Building up layers in a scenic manner reminiscent of stage sets and museum samples, we will construct a box which will be a precious piece that can be gifted or displayed.

You will bring a collection of bits and bobs which may hold special meaning to you or you are welcome delve into my box of tut and resources to create your 3D construction. This might even be based on your visit to the Prairies or a past journey or experience.

You will also have the opportunity to exhibit your box art work along artists in

Stories of the Sea which is Emmas second collaborative exhibition at South Barn Hill in Seaford in support of the RNLI.

A wall of tin and box art is being curated for this Summer event in August.

Cost for the day plus entry to garden and materials is £60 plus exhibition option.

Please email emma@emmataylorprint.co.uk or 07540191437 for more details and booking.

Emma is a artist, printmaker and educator teaching from Lupin Cottage Workshops in East Sussex. She is currently Leader of Art and Photography in Wadhurst as well as running weekly art classes from her home and studio.

Emma has been teaching inspiring workshops at Sussex Prairie Gardens since 2017 and we are thrilled that she will be our Artist in Residence again with Amanda Duke in 2024.

Wonderful garden well worth a visit. Great variety of plants showing so many ways of portraying a garden layout. Must comment on the great tea and cakes selection, our dog loved the doggy ice cream!

Beautifully planted area, in which you are encouraged to walk along paths between the plants so can be completely surrounded by foliage - a lovely effect.
