Collage can be used as a form of self expression to explore hopes and dreams and create visual memoirs. In this workshop we will be using mixed media to create a collage (or two!) ready to be framed which will develop from a personal theme.

Working in situ, in this amazing and beautiful garden, you will spend 2 days working directly into sketchbooks, followed by 3 days painting. Daily meditation and breathing exercises in this idyllic garden setting will ensure it is a fully inspirational and relaxing experience

Workshop 1:00 to 3:00 JOIN US FOR A FUN-FILLED DAY OF WILLOW WEAVING There is something about working with Willow that is very relaxing and mindful, as you have to concentrate on the task in hand. In this full-day or half-day workshop you will spend time with Lorraine and learn how to weave a Dragonfly and/or Dream Catcher. All we need is a selection of Willow Withies for weaving a pair of sharp secateurs and the desire to learn something new!
This course in painting on silk, offers the opportunity to explore several techniques which can be applied to silk to create exciting effects – using gutta gum as a resist line, to draw the image, and the use of dyes, in building the layers.
We will be exploring the basic techniques of mono printing where one off unique prints are made without the use of a press. We will use inks and rollers to create layers and simple direct drawings from nature. We will also use leaves and plants to create effective frottage prints.
Working in a sketchbook is a great place to experiment and try new approaches to art without the pressure of creating a masterpiece. It can be daunting starting a sketchbook but I will show you how to get started and how to gain confidence to develop your own style. We will be exploring varied media and create pages of backgrounds in a sketchbook which will follow your own theme or point of interest.
