Our Nursery

Our plant nursery will tempt you with a wealth of unusual plants, all propagated from division or grown from seed from our garden.

Take a while to browse and find the perfect plant to buy and take home with you.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask Pauline, Paul or any member of the team for guidance.

Herbaceous perennials are our passion and speciality!

Our nursery

Plant of the month

Echinacea pallida.

Echinacea pallida

Echinacea pallida

This plant needs to be be planted in full sun and if you are lucky will flower from June through to September . It is hard to guarantee that it is fully hardy although this very dry winter and spring has seen it really flourish again at Sussex Prairies . Check it out in our cutting garden today !
Large, pale pink, daisy-like flowers with prominent, burnt orange centres appear from July to September.  The unusual, reflexed petals are much more slender than those of the more common Echinacea purpurea, making it an unusual cut flower.  Try it dispersed  through a sunny border or in bold drifts among grasses where it will extend the season of interest. It is attractive to bees and butterflies, and birds will flock to the seedheads later on.
