Bazaar will return in 2018- 17th -27th August 2018- From Friday 17th August until Monday 27th August 1030am – 5pm every day except Tuesday 21st August when the garden is closed .
An event in Marquees in Sussex Prairie Garden. Gorgeous clothes in cottons and vintage sari silk,semi precious designer jewellery,scarves,home furnishings and gifts – all ethically traded from India. Alex’s curry “Dhaba” will be serving delicious authentic curries.
Jo Hall will be giving talks on textiles and Nepal and there will be woodblock printing for kids and adults !
In our craft tent, Jo Hall, Bazaar owner and textile designer with over 25 years of experience working in India will be giving the following talks:
Thurs 23rd: 11am – 12 noon.
“Mud, Mirror and Stitch” A look at some of the textile making process in India. This is a great chance to peruse some pieces from Jo’s personal collection.
Sat 25th: 11am – 12 noon.
“Coverings” Clothing in traditional and Modern Rajasthan – exploring identity, women, caste and culture.”
