CANCELLED
Come along to Sussex Prairies and spend time creating a beautiful mixed media piece of Textile art and lampshade using pre made ‘paper cloth’ and fabrics, transfer printed plants, trimmings, found images, paints, organza & stitch.
This is a two day workshop, where during the first day you will get the opportunity to produce small pieces of transfer printing using plants, found items, feathers and painting to incorporate into your textiles work. This wonderful technique lets you create very detailed images of plants directly onto fabric using disperse dyes and we will also draw plants using transfer inks and pencils.
The second day we will be developing our new skills to create a beautiful mixed media printed and stitched lampshade.
You will need to provide your own sewing machine, Please make sure it is full working order.
However, if needed you can hire one direct from me @£10 per day.
I will guide you through the process of using my sewing machines and their various stitch settings before starting your piece. This workshop is suitable for all abilities and if you have little or no experience using the sewing machine I will make sure you get plenty of support – You’ll be feeling confident in no time!
All materials are provided to make several printed textile pieces approx. A5 in size, paper cloth, fabric base to stitch onto and lampshade kits.
Tea, coffee & light refreshments are available from Sussex Prairies wonderful cafe.
Price also includes entry to the Sussex Prairie garden.
The tickets can be bought through Eventbrite, the price is £130 for both days
