Lucy Dean is one of the artists exhibiting in the Prairie Gardens Gallery in the UNFURL exhibition . gallery this year. She is exhibiting 3 new pieces of work which are a part of a series of 13 illustrations which are inspired by her doodles, or another term “unfocussed drawing”. In the workshop we will create a variety of unfocussed drawings in various styles. We will then take time to look at what we have created and then what inspirations you can draw from them. One of the challenges when using a doodle in a focused piece of work is recreating something drawn freely, possibly quickly, if enlarging or reproducing the initial design how do you keep the originals energy? This is a fun workshop that can lead to some fabulous unexpected results.
The course suitable is suitable for all abilities.
It will take place in the gallery surrounded by inspiring artwork indoors and also in the fabulous gardens outside.
Materials for the workshop will be provided but you can also bring with you any drawing implements you like to work on, and favoured sketchbooks. Also any backs of envelopes or meeting agendas that you have absently doodled over end kept! I have a large collection I have collated into a concertina sketch book.
Numbers on the course maximum 10
Cost per person £65 includes materials and tea, coffee and biscuits. Price also includes entry into the Prairie gardens, you can stay as long as you like after the workshop. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the gardens.
