Ecoprint on Paper with Amanda Duke

Ecoprint on Paper

1 day – Wednesday 16th August  OR Thursday 17th August 2023    9am – 2pm

Make 15 handmade note cards on 350gm watercolour paper

Suitable for beginners

Course fee £85 including all materials and coffee, tea, biscuits will be provided free of charge this year. Cake will still be available in the café and you may wish to bring a sandwich or similar for lunch.

What to expect on the day?

You will make 15 handmade high-quality notecards/blank for messages cards. This is a fascinating way to explore botanical forms on paper. You will use local and familiar flowers and leaves with a contact printing method that allows them to transfer their colour, texture, and patterns to your papers. The effects and results you can get from a range of plants is quite magical. You will learn the process of layering plants, mordants and paper together before steaming your bundles in a steel pot. Your outcomes will reveal surprising and exciting effects that you will allow to dry at home after the course. All card stock and tape preparation will be completed on the day so that when your prints have dried at home it will take you just 30 minutes to complete the finished notelets/cards. The aim will be to equip you with sufficient skills to get started with Eco printing at home. Detailed notes will be sent to you after course completion.

What to bring with you?

Please wear clothes suitable for messy work and bring an apron and a waterproof bag/sheet with you for transporting your damp samples home.
