CANCELLED Exploring Drypoint Etching with Chine-colle with Emma Taylor

Friday 31st July | 10:00am - 2:00pm

CANCELLED Exploring Drypoint Etching with Chine-colle with Emma Taylor

Course outline: Exploring Drypoint Etching with Chine-colle

Explore the beautiful printmaking technique of drypoint with an emphasis on texture and quality of line. We will draw directly into acetate and metallic card sheets to create varied mark-making which when printed through an etching press will create rich velvety lines.

We will produce multiple prints inspired by the gardens and will experiment with different ways of inking to add subtle colour. We can also explore Chine-colle layers of colour as well as adding a flash of texture with collagraph layers.

This intaglio printmaking process is perfect for beginners as the transparent plates offer the option to trace from preparatory drawings or photographs. For the more confident, drypoint is ideal for artists looking to expand their practice.

The theme is individual to you but I will have a variety of starting points. Animal and pet  portraits always work well too.

Costs: £55 per workshop

All materials will be included in the price as well as entry to the gardens.

To secure a place please contact Emma Taylor by email emma@emmataylorprint.co.uk or phone 07540191437
