Sussex Prairie Garden is open until 13th October 2024. Our opening days and hours are wednesday to sunday . 1pm until 5pm . Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays . Dogs are welcome.
Our next super Event will be our Beautiful and Useful Craft Fair this coming weekend 14th and 15th September - 11am until 5pm - expect over 30 exhibitors all set in a glorious garden setting . Delicious refreshments , live music ,art exhibition , plant sale and of course homemade cake. Dogs very welcome !
Expressive Soft Pastels with Clare Buckle
Join artist Clare Buckle and find your landscape joy in the inspiring environment of Sussex Prairie Garden.
In this workshop we will explore soft pastels in an expressive way, working with spontaneous & creative mark making to establish impactful compositions & rich colour.
You will learn how to apply the pastel, how to choose or create surfaces to work on, the best ways to build colour, and how to preserve your work.
The cost of the workshop (£65) includes materials and all-day entrance to the garden, so once the workshop has ended you are free to explore at your leisure.
Clare Buckle studied Illustration at the Royal College of Art but is known for her fine art painting and printmaking focusing on aspects of landscape and unexpected places. When drawing outdoors pastel is her chosen medium for its immediacy and intense colour.
