Sussex Prairies will not be open to the general public for visiting in 2026 . We shall however be picking the prairie garden for fabulous cut flowers with a difference for weddings , funerals and all other celebrations . Now you can get more bang for your bucket (of flowers) throughout our season June to October
Join textile artist and tutor, Esther Collins, to learn the wonderful art of fabric weaving! Inspired by the colours and landscape of the Sussex Prairies, I will show you how to use scraps of fabric to make a beautiful woven background, also incorporating printed papers as well as textiles. We will then spend time embellishing with some gentle hand stitching; learn how to integrate couched threads and interesting textures with lots of one-to-one help and demonstrations of different stitches. Create a unique piece of work which could be framed, or perhaps used as the cover of a sketchbook, or made into a small purse.
Price includes all materials, plus tea, coffee and homemade biscuits and the opportunity to explore the inspiring Sussex Prairies Wild.
