Sussex Prairie Garden is now closed for the winter
We will start by creating a zine sketchbook as a starter to explore the media for the day from a single sheet of paper.
We will then explore architectural structures and buildings to create a large mixed media piece using inks and fine layers of collage as a background. Textures and markmaking will be built up with sponging, brush and card to produce layered, patterned and textured surfaces. Frottage and texture collection from the garden will fuel our mixed media approach.
We will be inspired by the contemporary work of Lucy Jones and also John Piper to combine wax resist and collage.
If you are more drawn to the natural form we can also work straight from plants from the Prairies and will be looking at the fabulous Mark Hearld for inspiration.
This workshop does not require any specific artistic skills other than an open mind and a sense of play. We can use background architectural/natural collage as an aid for composition if drawing is not your forte! Working from your own photographs will make this day even more personal.
Cost for the day plus entry to garden and materials is £60
