MARK CAREY – BIOGRAPHY
MARK CAREY trained at The Royal Central School. He has been a writer and actor for over thirty years.
He has worked in Ludlow, Derby, Exeter, Northampton, Westcliff, Newbury, Nottingham, York, Coventry, Birmingham, The Orange Tree Richmond, The Southwark Playhouse, The Arts Theatre as well as on tour and in the west end.
At the Cheltenham Everyman Mark has appeared in Dick Wittington, Death of a Salesman, Larkrise and Twelfth Night. He played Frank in Educating Rita, the Mayor in The Tailor of Gloucester, Lomov in the Proposal and Grigori in The Bear
As a member of the Royal National Theatre Company Mark worked on Betrayal, The Relapse and The Merchant of Venice all for Trevor Nunn.
On TV he has appeared in The Invincibles, Widows, Murphy’s Law, Underbelly, London’s Burning and most recently Luther.
Marks many Radio appearances include Wuthering Heights, Ashes to Antarctica, The Kingsnorth Six, and the Archers.
Mark played Macbeth, Bottom, The Inspector in An Inspector Calls, Stephano in The Tempest and Torvald in A Dolls House at the Bridge House Theatre in Warwick.
Mark has written many plays including Body Double (National Tour) and two community plays Fire at the Clarence (Exeter) and Magic Moments (Rural Warwickshire). His radio play The Last Country House was broadcast on radio four in 2005.
