CANCELLED Paper cloth, plant & print with Hilary Philips

CANCELLED

Come along to Sussex Prairies and spend time creating a beautiful mixed media piece of Textile art using pre made ‘papercloth’, transfer printed plants, fabric trimmings, found images, paints, organza & stitch.
During this you will get the opportunity to produce small pieces of transfer printing using plants, found items, feathers and painting to incorporate into your textiles work. This wonderful technique lets you create very detailed images of plants directly onto fabric using disperse dyes and we will also draw plants using transfer inks and pencils.
You will need to provide your own sewing machine, Please make sure it is in full working order.
However, if needed you can hire one direct from me @£10 per day.
I will guide you through the process of using my sewing machines and their various stitch settings before starting your piece. This workshop is suitable for all abilities and if you have little or no experience using the sewing machine I will make sure you get plenty of support – You’ll be feeling confident in no time!
All materials are provided to make several printed small textile pieces and an A4 piece of stitched papercloth which can be developed further at home or simply framed as a stunning textile piece..
Tea, coffee & light refreshments are available from Sussex Prairies wonderful cafe.
Price also includes entry to the Sussex Prairie garden.
