Phototransfer on Gelliprints with Emma Taylor

Sussex Prairie Gardens Autumn Workshops 2021 Tutor: Emma Taylor

Phototransfer on Gelliprints

Thursday 7th October Times: 10am-2pm

Course outline: Phototransfer onto Gelliprints

We will experience the joys of Gelliprinting to produce layered, patterned and textured backgrounds. These numerous prints which are made using layers of acrylic paints will explore the harmonious and vibrant colours of the garden around us.

I will introduce you to techniques of transferring photographic images onto the Gelliprints

to create aesthetic compositions, sensitive colour combinations and beautiful pieces that are individual to you. We will use images of the flora and fauna around the Prairie gardens and I also have collection of varied themes to expand your work further.

We will also be exploring the trials, tribulations and successes of magazine transfer using the gelli plates which can produce beautiful ghostly prints far removed from the original images.

You may wish to bring in your own photocopies of photographs to use. You could include photographs of plants or faces that are personal to you. Any images must be photocopies (laser prints and not inkjet) to transfer cleanly.

Costs: £55 per workshop

To secure a place please contact Emma Taylor by email emma@emmataylorprint.- co.uk or phone 07540191437

Beautifully planted area, in which you are encouraged to walk along paths between the plants so can be completely surrounded by foliage - a lovely effect.
