Rhubarb, Rhubarb , Rhubarb Afternoon
a celebration of all things Rhubarb –
we will be offering a 2 for 1 entrance to the garden at Sussex Prairies to all those bringing an entry for the competition classes .
No charge for entries to classes.
All entries for classes should be with us and ready for judging by 2pm at the latest . Winners will be announced on the day and on our website .
Entries can be picked up from the judging area and taken home at the end of the afternoon (430pm)
Competitions with Sussex Prairies Season Ticket Prizes-
The Best Rhubarb : display 3 stems. These will be judged on quality and uniformity. To be displayed with Trimmed stems .
The Longest Rhubarb : Who cares what it looks like. Longest one wins!
Rhubarb Preserves : Any jam, jelly, pickle, chutney etc with Rhubarb as the main ingredient.
Rhubarb baking : Cakes, scones, bread etc involving rhubarb in any which way you like.
Rhubarb flavoured Drink : Yes it could be gin but this one is also open to all alcoholic and non alcoholic rhubarb concoctions.
Kids Painting competition (ages 0-10 years ) – Theme “Rhubarb”– abstract colours , shapes etc

– check out Clares Chillies stand -Sussex based grower of much loved Chilli plants for sale along with Chilli growing products – not rhubarb – but a similar colour !
