Embrace the ethos of sustainability and creativity in our workshop as we delve into the scraps bag to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Join me for a pleasant Wednesday of fun making a zipped scrappy pouch, and a key fob. You’ll be able to make use of lots of scraps. If you have some favourite cotton pieces that you want to include then bring them along. No waste here!
I will show you how to use the stitch and flip foundation method to make a double-sided zipped pouch. You will be shown how to add a zipper easily to this and then if time allows, we will make a handy key fob from scraps too. You’ll get written instructions to take home so that you can make these again. These make fab gifts and use up every scrap of fabric. You can even make these from treasured clothing that has seen better days. All materials included in the cost.
Limited spots available – book yours today. Workshop participants are provided with tea/coffee and biscuits from the cafe during the workshop. And afterwards you can make full use of the garden facilities all included in the cost of the course.
Spaces are limited, so please book to secure your place.
Cost: £55 to include all materials needed, refreshments during the workshop and entry to the gardens for the rest of the day.

About Debbie
My passion for crafts began at an early age and I have always been a keen knitter and sewer. I followed a more academic choice in my career and ended up teaching accounting courses at local colleges. After a spell of living abroad I completed a City & Guilds course in Patchwork and Quilting and had time to hone my textile skills teaching there. This helped me to make the transition to teaching textile crafts when I returned to the UK.
I began to teach crochet, sewing, knitting, patchwork and quilting which is my real passion locally. I work as a City & Guilds tutor and assessor for the School of Stitched Textiles and teach textile crafts within my Crafty Workshops group. Regular monthly classes and workshops are held in the Horsham and Southwater area in crochet, knitting, sewing, and quilting.
I love scraps and hate to throw anything away as I am always sure there is something I can use it for. I make scrappy bags and pouches as well as numerous other scrappy projects. Upcycling and reusing are so important nowadays and teaching others how to do this makes me happy too. I keep my teaching style fun and exciting as well as achieving the goals; people learn better when they are relaxed and having fun. Being able to pass on my passions is my favourite pastime.
